Our Story
Allison and Angela have been friends since their now-college-age kids were young. Back in 2018, as the days ticked down to the holiday season, they decided to put their heads and skills together and create handmade gifts for their families. The first item that came to fruition was an exfoliating sugar scrub, which was a rousing success, and kindled their joy for creating self-care products. Next, they tried their hands at crafting candles and soaps and realized they loved bringing happiness (in the form of scented bath products) to others enough to expand it beyond just a hobby. Not to rest on their laurels, they honed their soap-crafting to perfection through participating in the Soap Challenge Club- a registered event in which creators master their skills in a featured soap technique. Angela has even gone as far as becoming an Advanced Certified Melt and Pour, Cold-Processed and Hot-Processed Soap Maker, through the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild. Afterglow Soap and Candle Co. is still a passion project for indulging their creative and scientific learnings--just now on a bigger scale. When you purchase an Afterglow product, you are not only investing in your happiness and well-being but also in the dream of the two friends who poured their hearts (and soy-based candles) into creating it for you.
